Texas-based grocery store chain HEB unveiled a mural design of local Vietnam Veteran Alfredo "Freddy" Gonzalez. The mural, commissioned by HEB to UTRGV graduate art student Ramiro Peña, debuted on Memorial Day 2016 at the Edinburg HEB store bearing Freddy's name. On November 11, 2015, at that same store, HEB also presented a $15,000 check to UTRGV's College of Fine Arts Scholarship Fund to further higher education.
